Question by Robyn89x: Best SLR camera for my type of photography?
I want to save up for a digital SLR camera (preferably not too expensive though, maybe around the €500 mark).

My main areas are landscapes, macro and outdoor.

I need a camera which is best for these three types with at least 10 megapixels.

If I had to narrow down to two categories I’d remove landscape since I have little opportunities for landscape shots. So macro and outdoor (daytime) are my main priorities =)

What cameras would be best for these two areas?

The Olympus or Nikon ranges are your best bets. Either have cameras in their ranges that will (in one camera) more than cater for your needs. If you are, in any way serious, you need an SLR.
You can’t afford a Hasselblad, or I’d suggest you get one of theirs.
Visit the websites, and try them BOTH, side by side, in a really good camera shop, like Jessops. The “feel” of a camera is, actually, quite important.

Question by rolymo: i have just started a photography course and i want to buy a camera does any1 have any ideas on what camera?
i am looking to take it up as a profession once i have done my course so i would be looking to buy a decent one

but then it got stolen, and i was wondering what type of camera you think is the best for photography…
like brands such as Nikon, Kodak, Sony, Panasonic, Vivitar, ect…

i’m trying to get a new one and i’d really like to know…

everyone has their own selection of brand i like the canon. a lot of peole like the Nikon.
I think you should go to the store and look at them all and find a camera that has the features you want it to have.
a lens means more to me then the camera it’s self so any of those are good camera’s just find one you like…

i was thinking maybe canon EOS 450D??

there the ones i use at university, anyone got any tips??

also what would be the usual price for these cameras??

I was going to suggest the Canon EOS450D, its the camera I use and it produces some quality images. Only thing I would suggest is buying the body and getting a different lens as the ones they supply aren’t very good quality. It costs just £449 at Jessops for the body alone and is worth every penny.
